Constance Spry Climbing Rose

January 19, 2016

Named for the great amateur rosarian who was worked to save many varieties of old garden roses from the devastation of WWII, ‘Constance Spry’ was the first of the “English” roses to be bred by David Austin, introduced in 1965.

Constance Spry is considered one of the most superb of all climbing roses. A lovely true pink rose with magnificent, clear pink blooms of true Old Rose form. The flowers are exceptionally large, with a luminous delicacy that is hard to compare with any other rose. The blossoms have a strong myrrh fragrance and was the first English Rose to be introduced with this scent. As a climber it reaches up to 12 feet tall.
